DAY OF FAQs
 
AGE GROUPS AND AWARDS - All participants will be divided into the following age groups for award purposes: 11 & under, 12-18, 19-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+
Personalized awards will be given to Climbers for both the 70-Floor Climb and the 40-Floor Climb in each of the following categories:
·        1st Place Overall Male/Female
·         2nd Place Overall Male/Female
·         3rd Place Overall Male/Female
 
Fastest Male/Female Climber in each of the following age groups:
·         11 & under
·         12-18
·         19-29
·         30-39
·         40-49
·         50-59
·         60-69
·         70+
 
Team Awards are given in the following categories:
·         Fastest Team (Full Climb and Half Climb)
·         Highest Fundraising Team
·         Most Spirited Team  
·          Most Clever Team Name
 
Awards will be mailed 6-8 weeks after the event. Participants can see their results after the event online
 
BATHROOMS - Bathrooms are located on the 40 floor in the gym and in the  food court.
 
DONATIONS - All donations can be turned in at the help table next to the registration table.  To be eligible 
for incentive prize, you must turn in all pledges no later than February 25, 2007.
 
FIREFIGHTERS, POLICE, EMS - Are NOT permitted to climb in their gear and or uniforms. Bunk shirts are 
acceptable. 
 
GEAR CHECK - Is located at registration.  It is strongly suggested that climbers DO NOT check any items.  
ALAM will not be responsible for any lost or stolen items.  Please leave all valuables, purses, coats, wallets 
at home or in your vehicle or with your guest(s).
 
GUEST PASSES - For the Post Climb Celebration for food, exhibitors and entertainment may be purchased 
for $5 each online at www.climbdetroit.org or day at celebration check-in.
 
HEADPHONES - You may wear headphones, but be conscious of other climbers and volunteers in the 
stairwells.  Please make sure that your radio, MP3 or CD player is worn with proper exercise carrier.
 
MISSING BIB - Please go to help table next the registration table.
 
PARKING/VALIDATION - Climb Detroit Participants will receive free parking in the Beaubien parking lot only!  
To receive free parking climbers must show their Climb Bib to the parking attendant when exiting the parking structure.  
Parking is located in the Beaubien Street parking structure.
 
PHOTOS - Are available to purchase inside the Post Climb Celebration.  Prices are available at the photo booth.
 
PASSING - Climbers are asked to pass on the left and to notify other climbers they are doing so by saying 
"PASS" or "PASSING".
 
REGISTRATION -
70-Floor Climb
            Registration Fee: $35
            Fundraising Minimum: $65
 Total Entry Fee: $100 (due at the time of registration)
 
40-Floor Climb
            Registration Fee: $35
            Fundraising Minimum: $45
Total Entry Fee: $80 (due at the time of registration)
 
*TIP: Your pledge minimum must be paid at the time of registration.  You may reimburse yourself the pledge minimum from any donations you collect.  Pledge receipts for you donors are available upon request.  Please email Randee Loberman at rloberman@alam.org to request pledge sheets. 
 
 
RESULTS - Final results will be available online at www.climbdetroit.org 1-2 days after Climb Detroit.
 
STAIRWELLS - There are water stations and EMS personal placed every 10 floors outside each stairwell.
 
START LINE - 70 floor climbers will start in the South Stairwell and 40 floor climbers will start in the North Stairwell.  
Volunteers will direct you to the correct stairwell.
 
T-SHIRTS - If you did not receive your T-Shirt go to the help table next to registration.
 
VOLUNTEERS - Check-in on the Marriot Detroit at the Renaissance Center's main floor at the help table. 
 
WATER - Water stations are set up near each start line.  There are also water stations every 10 floors.  Water 
CAN NOT be taken into either stairwell.
 
 
Additional  Questions
 
  • Is Climb Detroit a relay?                                                                                                                                       
Climb Detroit is not a relay.  Starting times will be included in your day of team packet. 
  • Will there be a marathon start?                                                                                                                         
No.  Climbing will start in intervals- There will be a 15 - 20 second delay between climbers.
  • Will my team be climbing together?                                                                                                               
We will do our best to have team members climb consecutively.  All team members must be on site at their 
given start time.
  • Where can I get my day of team packets?                                                                                                            
Day of team packets will be dispensed at Dick's Sporting Good's.  Please check the website for dates and times.
  • How is Climb Detroit going to be timed?                                                                                                         
We will be using ChampionChip® technology.  Results will be continually updated during the event.  
Final times will be posted on the Climb Detroit website.
