The American Lung Association in Alaska (ALAA) is excited that the Clean Air Challenge is back for the long awaited 25 year anniversary celebration! The Clean Air Challenge has been an important event, not only for ALAA but to all those involved through the years, from participants to volunteers. Lung disease has touched many people and for 25 years the Clean Air Challenge has been a way for many to honor those that have lost, fought or won the battle with lung disease.
The Clean Air Challenge was sorely missed last year. But this is a time to celebrate! We have the opportunity to bring back a long standing family tradition to Alaska and to all of the wonderful people that have participated over the years.
For 75 years ALAA has made every effort in the fight against lung disease and this depends on funding. The Clean Air Challenge is our premier fundraiser and a vital component in supporting the infrastructure of our organization that enables many of our essential programs and services in Alaska.
With lung disease on the rise, we are fighting for research that will find a cure for tomorrow. We are fighting for lungs that burn from exercise rather than from ozone. We are fighting for asthma education to help children manage their asthma. We are fighting for laws that improve air quality both inside and out. We are fighting to keep tobacco out of the hands of our youth. And we won't breathe easy until we win the fight.
Join us in the fight against lung disease.
