The Climb of My Life!
Kathleen Skambis is a lung cancer survivor. She is very lucky. Because she had the flu ten years ago, she had a chest x-ray, which found the lung cancer very early and saved her life. Many, many others are not as lucky. Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer death in the United States. It kills more people in the U.S. every year than breast, prostate, and colon cancers COMBINED.
On November 14th, 2009, the American Lung Associationof Florida, Inc. - Central Area will host the 3rd Annual stairclimb in Orlando to raise awareness of lung cancer and raise funds to support research, awareness, support groups and lung health. Now called the "Fight for Air Climb," the event was previously called "Climbing Heights for Lung Cancer." This stairclimb is a vertical climb up Orlando's 2nd tallest building, the Bank of America Center.
Please support our climb and the American Lung Association by making a donation or participating in the event. It's fun and not as difficult as you might think. Thank you! Your contribution is greatly appreciated.
