In June, I'll climb 39 flights of stairs to the 40th floor of the Carter Burgess Plaza for the American Lung Association. In June, I will make my way from 39 to 40 years old. ;-)
This event is called a "vertical challenge". At 5 foot 4 inches tall, I'm "vertically challenged" ;-)
In the past, I have always disliked fundraisers. Up to now, I can't even sell a dollar for 50 cents. But, wow! Look at your generosity!!!
I deal daily with patients affected by lung disease. Unless they quit smoking, a lot of my coworkers will also become my patients.
When I was 9, my mom caught us smoking and I got a whoopin'. Now that I'm 39, my mom would still whoop my behind if she saw me smoking.
On June 12th, I will join others in our community to raise funds for the ALA, fight for cleaner air and prevent lung disease. Please join me in my efforts to make a difference in the air we all breathe!

At the gym, one of my most hated equipment is the stair climber. For this event, I get to climb up 39 real flights of stairs? What have I gotten myself into?!
