Why are we needed?

I plan to ride in the 23rd Annual Bike Trek for Life and Breath, June 18-20, to raise money for the American Lung Association of North Dakota. I hope you will be one of my Bike Trek sponsors by making a tax-deductible donation to support the American Lung Association in their work to prevent lung disease and promote lung health.
This work is needed more than ever because:
· Ninety percent of adult smokers started smoking before the age of twenty-one.
· Lung cancer has surpassed breast cancer as the number one cancer killer in women.
· An estimated 430,700 Americans die of smoking related diseases every year.
· Breathing problems are the number one causes of death in infants.
· Asthma is the leading serious chronic illness among children and is most prevalent among
children under 18 years of age.
· Asthma among children is the number one cause of school absenteeism.
